Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a startling case that has left the medical community astounded, a 60-year-old man in Nagpur has been found to be living with a rare medical condition called fetus in fetu. Bharat, as he is known, had been grappling with a bulging belly for three decades, but it was only recently that doctors uncovered the truth hidden inside him.
Struggling to make ends meet, Bharat had ignored the persistent bulge, facing ridicule from peers and even family members. However, in 1999, the situation took a turn for the worse when the bulge began to press against his diaphragm, making it increasingly difficult for him to breathe. Seeking medical attention, what was initially believed to be a tumor turned out to be something far more astonishing.
Upon performing surgery to remove the mass, doctors were met with an unimaginable sight. Instead of a cancerous growth, they discovered a partially formed human being. Bharat's condition, fetus in fetu, is an extremely rare occurrence, with fewer than 100 cases reported worldwide, according to John Hopkins University.
Inside Bharat's stomach lay a jumble of bones, limbs, genitalia, jaws, and even hair, resembling the remains of his absorbed twin. Fetus in fetu is a phenomenon where a deformed fetus is discovered inside the body of its twin. The National Library of Medicine describes it as a rare entity.
